If I am rust bluing, I do my own. I use Brownell's Classic rust blue. If I am hot bluing or any of the other bluing types, I send it to Doug Turnbull. And yes, sending it out can get expensive! On the other hand, it looks soooooooooooooooooooo much better!

Beathard,You don't cut through bluing period,you remove it for starter then hand polish.No buffing,I do all my own polishing, bluing browning,rust,niter & hot bluing as for color case it's sent to John Gillette Classic Guns Crete Ill. 708-367-1620,good prices & turn around time.The reason I try to do every thing in house is because I don't trust anyone to do this work but me.J.J.

So here is another silly question, does the bluing remover work on all bluing solutions or just cold blue? Further more what solution works best for this, as right now I have a knife that would be neat French grey'd Thanks. K Frei
