Normally I like to fabricate because I like taking simple actions that directly translate into something that looks nice and is already done. However I decided it was time to stop being scared of wax and try it.
Here is my first ring I've made carved from wax. It is a two piece ring made for a 5X4 natural alexandrite. I tried the wheat leaf pattern on it after assembling the castings and setting the stone. The shank is 14KW and rhodium plated to contrast the rustoleum patina. Looks a little haggard at this mag but I was happy overall with the out come. I wish I would've continued the pattern all the way to the head though, and not doubled the size of the last leaf and stopped short on the flat sides.
