Recalling the baroque flute I posted, with its engraved key:

It went off to its new owner in Germany. This week he sent me a very good photo of him journeying with his wife across Les Alpes Maritimes, that border France and Italy. This western region of the main Alps finally plunges rather steeply in the Med, between Nice and Genoa. All of their bivouac high camps were above 6,500 feet. I was quite taken with the situation, the scene only missing a small herd of sheep in the foreground, while this modern shepherd comforted them with some soft mountain aire.

I must assume that Robert's wife was the photographer, and a good one! A friend pointed out that she captured the moment with the flute in a sympathetic angle with the slope of the far ridges

Rod, Do the baroque flutes have a different sound, say as compared to a metal flute? The ones you make are beautiful.
