Hi All,
I really happy that this forum has come on line. I've been reading Sam's tips for the trade, and now use a lot of the ideas he has posted.
I'm a firm believer that if you get something of value, you should give
something of value.
In Canada when you come into the shop, the tools are cold, not cool.
It hurts to hold them. The GRS inside ring holder or the ring clamp
can be numbing just to look at. I've tried using a hot air paint stripper gun
and hold to tools under hot water. At least your tools are clean everyday,
but this still took time when I'd rather be setting and engraving.
I had the same problem with a heavy duty ring bender that I keep out
in the garage. If the temp was -20 out of doors that tool was the same
temperature. I cured the cold hand shake with a foam bike grip.
Unfortunately the GRS tools have a larger diameter than a handle bar on
a bike. So I looked around in the shop and came up with foam strips
for foundations that come in long rolls and every man friend, duck tape.
The foam is also used for packing material so it should be easy to find.
This sleeve works like a charm.
So there ya go Sam, talk to ya later,
Jim
