jadeon rathgeber

Jadeon Rathgeber was born in
197 7 in nor t her n Manitoba.
Jadeon is of Cree, German and
Swiss descent. Several years ago,
he moved to British Columbia to
reunite with his mother Half Moon
Woman, and family. His mother was
very adamant that he change his
lifestyle, and stressed the
importance of learning about his
culture and living a traditional
lifestyle in these modern times.
Jadeon has since been dedicated to
aboriginal culture, and has excelled
in the art of carving.
Jadeon owes this new way of life to
his adopted uncle and mentor
Whey-Hey-Ukt-Chuck a Nuu-chah-
nulth, master designer and carver.
Jadeon also attended the North
West Coast Design program at
Native Education College in
Vancouver BC, and had the
privilege of watching and learning
from Nisga'a master carver Norman
Tait for 3 months.
The mediums Jadeon has worked in
are: yellow and red cedar, alder,
pipe stone, soap stone, ram horns,
moose bone, antler, and various
metals.
