• Engraved Signet Ring

This is a quick project for a client that was fun to do. The feather has a special meaning for him.

A white gold signet ring and the face of the ring is about 10mm square.

The trick was to get the feather more animated and interesting so it could occupy the space better.

I always polish the face to a satin finish using green polishing paper. It enhances the engraving more than a gloss finish which will soon be scratched anyway.

    Cheers

      Hi Andrew,

Really liking this! It's what I hope to achieve after a little practise. I'm aiming to do a few henna designs on a ring.

It's a middle eastern ornate pattern which is a temporary tattoo but I think it will look great on ring.

May I ask what kind of graver you used to achieve this? I have a Lindsey universal graver but had little chance to use it yet and I'm a complete newby!

      Your input very much appreciated!

      Many thanks.

      Hiren.
