Hi guys, it's been ages since I posted anything I've been doing here so this is the latest I finsihed off tonight. It's one of a pair of headstall buckles (2" high) cut from 1/8" thick steel and overlaid with nickel and copper-some engraving into the steel too.

I'm having a lot of fun doing my "buckle a day" for this month, each day a new buckle design I sketch out late at night "watching" TV and then the next day making and finishing it. I use Ron Smith's idea of laying tracing paper down over my printed buckle shape and draw away. If there's a part I don't like I can lay over another piece of tracing paper like a layer in photoshop and retrace what I like and leave the rest-Thanks Ron! I even lay in bed with my clipboard and tracing paper and draw until the wee hours with my Ipod headphones on to clasical music, trying to entice the muses to inspire me even more. 14 new designs and 16 more to go-it's getting tough now :)
Paul
