Mac or pc, I welcome any and all information on what everyone is using this great tool, the computer, to help you engrave. IE., do you use it for lettering, pictures, web creation, scanning and what types of Software, hardware, etc.

Yves: For basic engraving transfers or layouts, I'm not sure one is that much better than the other. However, if you're doing serious graphics, video, music, the Mac is the computer of choice for many professionals. As a recent Mac convert, I can tell you that it was the best computer decision I've ever made. The Mac operating system is solid, robust, stable, extremely powerful, and at present, is not plagued by all the viruses that infect PC's. The new Macs have Intel processors, so you can now either boot to the Windows operating system or run an application that allows you to use Windows apps in the Mac environment. I've not done this, but I hear it works quite well. I was a happy PC user for many years, and while I don't have anything against them, I can see why the Mac has earned its reputation. I should add that Abigail and I have two Macs and two PC's, and she uses the PC daily. / ~Sam

I have gone Mac.

I have both my P.C. and Mac side by side and I find myself using the mac much more. I do run all my games and business stuff on the P.C. The mac for all my designing, web site and transferring. I do like not having to reformat monthly. Surfing with the PC while I work on the mac is how I roll ;) .
I did spill tea on my keyboard the first of the week and that trashed it. I am waiting for new on to show up and now I see how much I miss my quad G5.

anyone doing professional work, especially graphics, will surely end up in the mac camp. sam hit a vital nail--very stable platform ! for a long time macs were plagued with software availability problems. no more. that's all ancient history.

I have a Mac and a PC, and am slowly working toward eliminating the PC. The Mac is a wonderful machine, but expect to pay considerably more for it than for a PC.

Hi,

My recent experience is that my ProMac will not run corel Draw. It will not even run
corel draw 11 which by the way is last version that will run on some Macs.
My son talked me into swapping my ProMac for his G-4. He's making movies and can use
all that raw power. I'll take the G-4 and update it to OS-10 Leopard (the newest system for Apple). Looks like nothing for it but to learn Adobe Illustrator. It supposed to be the
industry standard.

I went to the casino and won enough money to buy a new Dell with windows XP.
I'm really happy with this. I can do my normal thing on the run and still come home and
play with the Apple G-4. I do like the apple system. It's really smooth and the Promach is
very sexy. Who knows, maybe I'll win enough to buy a second one. It really annoys the
wife when I do that.
